Five on Friday

TGIF! This past week was spent mostly in the gym, as I have been spending more time than usual there. Gearing up for all the holiday traditions -- cookies, pumpkin everything, mashed potatoes. Last weekend was so much fun that this post is basically a recap. Getting right down to it..

While in Pittsburgh this past weekend, we walked around Walnut Street (shopping) and Bakery Square (more shopping). The weather was so perfect. It was just cold enough to layer up. We browsed J.Crew and they had one of my favorite sweaters in stock! I have on a previous year below, but I love the new colors! I happened to be wearing it while shopping too! Shop my look below.

We went to Pittsburgh mainly for my in-law's anniversary party of their advertising agency. It was held in Penguins Arena (PPG Arena). We got to tour the ice and locker room area. I grew up in a hockey family and my most of my childhood was spent in ice rinks watching my brother's games. Fun fact: My dad played in the senior Olympics for hockey and won a gold medal. It was so cool to see the behind the scenes of the arena!

Right after Pittsburgh, we headed to an annual Halloween party. We were Waldo & Wenda. Definitely not a prize winning costume, but it did the job! We were so so tired. We also made and miserably failed at making "eyeball" deviled eggs. Definitely not a Pinterest worthy project on my part.

While shopping, I got some really great ideas for Christmas gifts. Williams-Sonoma had so many goodies. They also have really great spices, oils, sauces, etc. for people that don't really need anything or have minimal space. I love their dipping oils.. especially with warm french bread on a winter night. Some of my favorites are linked below!
Dipping Oil
Infused Olive Oil
Tacolicious Seasoning

We have an annual bonfire to attend this weekend at a family friend's home. He also happens to be our real estate agent and was previously a chef. So the food is outta this world. It wouldn't be fall without fires and s'mores. This truly is the best time of year!

P.S. - Holiday cards have officially been ordered and I am SO excited! Happy Friday!

  1. Just came across your blog via the Friday linkup! Love your cute outfit (anything with stripes is OK in my book!) and I'm obsessed with the WS initial cheeseboard! Love stopping in there to shop for the inevitable person on my list who has everything :) Have a great weekend!
