Five on Friday

-one-
Exciting stuff in our little town! One of our absolute favorite restaurant/bar spots opened up near us! We went there the night before Thanksgiving fully expecting to over indulge in margaritas. Well, I ended up running 5 miles at the gym and decided to drink a lot of water instead of a lot of tequila.

The quesadillas are out of this world and the atmosphere is totally on point. They have an Elvis in Baltimore type theme and nailed it.

We bought our tree at our favorite florist shop and going there has become a tradition. They had two greenhouses FULL of poinsettias and I love their tree selection.

Next week I will be participating in a holiday link up (so excited) and will be sharing holiday photos of our home. I love decorating our home and being intentional, not over doing it and making sure every item has its place.

I don't want to spoil the little "tour" but I have to share the tree on our main floor! I can't wait for under the tree to be totally full of gifts. I have lots of wrapping to do.
See what I mean about presents? This was our tree in 2014.

Last year we hosted a holiday party with all our friends. I tried to go over and above, make sure I had plenty of food, and try some unique appetizers I found on Pinterest.

This year we decided not to host a holiday party, as one of our close friends hosts an annual party each year. We are going to bring one of the apps I made last year because it was so good and very festive!

This recipe is easy and pretty!

Ingredients
  • 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
  • ½ Cup light mayonnaise
  • 5 Strips of bacon, cooked crisp and crumbled
  • 1 Tbsp diced green onion
  • 1 Tsp chopped fresh dill weed
  • ⅛ Tsp pepper
  • 1¼ Cup whole almonds, toasted
  • Fresh rosemary sprigs for garnish

Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Combine cream cheese and mayonnaise and mix well in a food processor or blender.
3. Stir in the cooked bacon, green onion, dill weed and pepper.
4. Cover and chill overnight.
5. Shape the cheese mixture into two small pine cones on serving plate.
6. Starting at the narrow end, place almonds into the cheese on a slight angle, forming rows.
7. Garnish with rosemary twigs to resemble pine needles.

8. Serve with crackers.

Busy weekend ahead here! Sunday we are going to the Ravens vs. Dolphins game. This time we'll be decked out in Dolphins gear. We try to go to a Dolphins game every year, whether it is in Miami, Baltimore, or DC. So far we have gone in 2013, two in 2014, and now one this year!

Miami 2013
Pittsburgh 2013 (it was freezing, literally)
DC in 2015

This year I will actually get some better pictures. This whole month is filled with awesome plans. I hope all of you have some exciting weekends plans also!
